Psychology Student Wins Award at NEPA!

Psychology is one of the most popular majors at Central Connecticut State University (CCSU). A background in psychology prepares students for a wide variety of careers. This website gives you basic information about the requirements for students who major in psychology at Central Connecticut State University. This includes information regarding General Education requirements, the specific courses required for the major in psychology, an explanation of minors, as well as some guidance in terms of planning a career in psychology. Students should meet with their academic advisor, a faculty member in the Department, for further information.

What programs does CCSU offer in Psychology?

The Psychology Department, as part of the School of Arts and Sciences, offers the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and Masters of Arts (M.A) degree in Psychology. We also offer a minor in Psychology and serve as the home department for the minor in Gerontology. See links from 'Programs' tab for more information.  A degree in Psychology will not certify you to teach at the elementary or secondary level in Connecticut.  For information regarding Teaching Certification, please contact the Dean’s Office at the School of Education (248 Barnard Hall, 832-2100).
