Dr. Frank Donis' Research Interests:
The study of memory and the acquisition of visual pattern identification
in pigeons. Presently our work is focused on the study of distractor effects,
and context superiority and inferiority effects in visual pattern recognition
by pigeons and humans. We have also conducted research on the perception
of apparent movement in both species.
A mathematical model of visual pattern
recognition by pigeons that was developed by Heinemann and Chase (1990)
has been used to explain some of the empirical data. |
